The first annual Ladies of Harley P.J. party was attended by 9 members and
although we were small in numbers, we were big in success. Whenever
girlfriends gather in a celebration of sisterhood, it is always a great
success. There was a bountiful spread of the best recipes of warm and
cool dips, Chili, flowing margaritas, wine and enough chips to feed the KC
Chiefs!

While the ladies gathered around the bar, Barbara Stewart rode shotgun
with the flash light while I, in my best Indian voice proclaimed to “MAKE
FIRE”…….……”BIG FIRE”! Which I did! We all gathered around the “BIG
FIRE” to make smores and small talk until it was merely a glow of embers.

Becky Thomas, a smores virgin, was appropriately initiated with a much
deserved treat for her heroic attempted murder of a reckless opossum,
which scared the bejebers out of Barbara Leaver--who described her
frightening encounter as “a creature with a hideously long nose and white
fur”! He bled a lot! Yes…..the old trusted Daisy strikes again!

After a soak in the hot tub and a tour of our deepest thoughts, we enjoyed
sleep undisturbed by the day’s issues. Although we didn’t discover a cure
for cancer, elect a president, or bring about world peace, we discovered
more about ourselves and each other, made closer and lasting friendships
and no one snored!
